Ferndale

The Spay Station was decked out in holiday decorations for surgeries the week before Christmas.

Canine mascots, Sunny and Thoreau, were stylin’ in the festive bandanas given to each dog.  Kitty and puppy treats were also distributed to all of the families.

The staff got the WeSNIP Canine Mascots ready for their Christmas photo (Cindy with Oz, Jen with Finn, Dr. Karen with Sonja, Joy with Thoreau and Sunny, Kat with Bessie, and Kathryn holding the newest member, Roo.

The staff posed for holiday pictures – Cindy, Dr. Karen, Kathryn, Jen and Kat - then the surgery team, Kat, Kathryn, Jen, and Dr. Karen.

Kat, Cindy & Chris, and Patricia got in the holiday mood.

Families and pets waited in their cars.  Juno, the 15 month-old Lab/Rottie mix.  Her Dad found out about the Spay Station while shopping at the Ferndale Country Store the day before.  Gorgeous Haru was adopted from friends.  He was adopted to keep an older kitty company, and they play like little kittens.  His family found out about the Spay Station from the WHS website.  Klaus, the 4 month-old kitten, was found as a stray.  His family saw information about the Spay Station on Craigslist.

Bailey, the 8 month-old Golden Retriever could hardly contain herself waiting in her car.  She was a gift and her family also saw information about WeSNIP on Craigslist.  At boarding time, she scampered up the stairs.

Kitties arrived in all sorts of boxes and a basket.

Chris helped a family with 4 kitties in pillow cases.  Kat carefully carried them on board.

Klaus waited in line, was given a tender kiss good-bye, and handed to Kat.

At the end of the day................

Kat and Kathryn finished closing tasks, while Bessie smiled her approval.

Then she played with Finn and Roo.

Kathryn held the newest WeSNIP Canine Mascot, RooRoo was adopted from The Humane Society of Skagit Valley, where he had been found as a stray.

WeSNIP gives many thanks to the management and staff of the
Ferndale Country Store for hosting the Spay Station and for all of
their help through the year.

Sharon, store manager with Chloe; Diane; Jeni with Felix; Christine; and L.T (in front) posed for a Holiday picture.

Sibling store kitties, Felix & Chloe were adopted as kittens from the Spay Station in August.  Check out Felix’s (right) huge polydactyl paws that look like big mittens.

Diane gives Felix a ride on the Christmas tree skirt.

The kitties have a wonderful time amusing the staff and customers with their antics around the Christmas tree.

Chris Haulgren - December 18, 2009

Chris prepared a gorgeous “thank you” flower arrangement for the Ferndale Country Store staff.

She presented it to Sharon .  Chris and Sharon shared a smile as Chris told her that in appreciation of all their help, WeSNIP will feature the Ferndale Country Store on their January 2010 flyer and website.

The WeSNIP family of friends, donors, staff, volunteers, and canine mascots wishes you a wonderful Holiday Season!!!!
