Things to Know About Bringing Dogs:

Space is limited. First come, first serve is our guideline, but there can be exceptions. Exceptions include In-heat or pregnant females. Pets of people on public assistance or low-income are our TOP PRIORITY. Spay Station staff has complete discretion as far as admittance.

  • Because surgery on dogs requires more time and recovery, space for dogs is limited. We generally allow 1 dog or 2 cats per household per day. However, you are welcome to bring additional pets in the event that not all of our surgery space will fill. As of September 1, 2010, we no longer accept dogs over 80 pounds. Please call or email to inquire. If your dog is likely to be frightened or aggressive, please call or email to inquire.
  • Dogs must be at least 4 months old.
  • Dogs must be a minimum of 5 pounds.
  • Dogs must have a well fitted collar or harness and be on a leash.
  • Pet owners must bring 2 towels per pet. They will be returned that day. If an owner's towel becomes soiled, we sometimes return a different towel in its place. Please do not bring towels that you would be distressed to not have returned.
  • Anesthesia can be hard for older animals to handle. Blood work is recommended for pets over 5 years of age and required for pets, 8 years or older. Please bring results that are no more than 2 weeks old with you the day of surgery. Our veterinarian has the right to turn away any pet if they feel blood work is needed prior to surgery.
  • No food or water after midnight the night before surgery except 4 month old puppies which should be fed and given water, up to half their usual amount.
  • Bring cash for services, payable at boarding only.

Check our schedule to find our next visit near you! Affordable surgery fees apply for some pet owners.
